  • Using Sitecore versions 7.1, 6x and Earlier on Chrome 37+

A simple fix for the showModalDialog problem.
If you’ve recently worked with an earlier version of Sitecore than 7.1 using Google Chrome, you’ve probably ran into a fairly annoying problem. When working in the Content Editor you’ve probably noticed that a large number of interactive elements of the page simply never finish loading when clicked. This applies to many of the features (ex Presentation -> Details or Page Editor) but somewhat most annoyingly, when you click on any item in the tree, it will simply show an hourglass and do nothing.

  • How to Track PDF Downloads with Sitecore

    Posted 07-05-2016 by Ken Gray

There is an expression that says, “there is more than one way to skin a cat” and there are many articles which cover “event tracking” through Google Analytics, but few on tracking PDF downloads directly within Sitecore. In fact, IMO Sitecore’s tracking is much easier since it handles all of the tagging and reporting for you - right out of the box - through a simple point-and-click process...which is why I wrote this post. How sweet is that?!

  • Sitecore Habitat In The Trenches - Video Presentation

    Posted 06-29-2016 by Dennis Augustine

Sitecore Habitat In The Trenches presented by TechGuilds' Dennis Augustine

Thoughtful architecture can transform a simple tool shed into a flexible, efficient work of art that integrates seamlessly into it's surroundings. Whether you're building wooden tool sheds or WCMS systems, great architecture will help make your project look better, perform better, last longer, cost less, and be a heck of a lot more fun to build while poor (or no) architecture can be bad news all around. Habitat is Sitecore's answer to the call for standardized, best-practice-based architectural guidance for Sitecore projects. In this video Dennis Augustine leads a discussion about the pros and cons of the Habitat model and shares practical lessons gleaned from one of TechGuild's recent Habitat-based projects. He is joined by Razor Fish's Ben Swizter who relates their "In the Trenches", real-world experience implementing using Habitat and by Sitecore Habitat's own Thomas Eldblom
