Design

Design built to perform

Design philosophy

Design is where the user experience is won or lost — long before a developer writes a line of code.

At TechGuilds, design isn't a phase that just happens between strategy and implementation. It's a practice that runs through everything we do. Our designers work alongside our strategists and developers from day one. That means fewer surprises at build, fewer redesigns post-launch, and experiences that actually work the way users expect them to.

What we do

User Research & Personas

Design for real people, not assumptions.

We conduct structured user research to understand how your audience actually thinks, navigates, and makes decisions, not how you assume they do. The findings shape everything: information architecture, content hierarchy, conversion flows, and visual design direction.

What’s covered

  • User interviews and surveys
  • Usability testing
  • Behavioral analysis
  • Persona development
  • Research synthesis delivered as actionable design inputs

UX Strategy & Journey Mapping

Map the experience before you build it.

A UX strategy translates user research and business goals into a clear experience blueprint. We map the full user journey from first touchpoint to conversion and beyond, identifying friction, opportunity, and the moments that matter most.

What’s covered

  • Current state experience audit
  • User journey mapping
  • Information architecture
  • Conversion path design
  • Wireframes that validate structure before visual design begins

UI & Visual Design

The craft that makes it real.

Our UI designers bring visual intelligence, brand sensitivity, and platform knowledge to every screen they design. Whether we're working within an existing brand system or helping to evolve one, the result is a visual experience that reflects your organization and performs for your users.

What’s covered

  • High-fidelity UI design
  • Design systems and component libraries
  • Brand alignment and evolution
  • Accessibility-compliant design
  • Platform-ready handoff for development

Prototyping & Validation

Test the idea before you build the product.

Interactive prototypes let you validate the experience with real users before a single line of code is written. It's the fastest and least expensive way to catch problems, align stakeholders, and build confidence in the direction.

What’s covered

  • Interactive prototype development
  • Usability testing sessions
  • Stakeholder review facilitation
  • Iteration based on validated findings

FAQ

Common questions

What does a TechGuilds Design engagement typically start with?

Every design engagement begins with a structured Discovery phase. We conduct collaborative workshops with your team to understand strategic objectives, pain points, audience needs, and success metrics. From there, we develop detailed user personas, map key user journeys, and audit existing content before a single screen is designed. This foundation ensures that every design decision is grounded in real user data and your organization's goals, not assumptions.

Can TechGuilds design within our existing brand guidelines?

Yes. Our designers work within established brand systems as a starting point, then push them forward for digital contexts. We develop wireframes and mockups that are creative while staying true to your organization's identity. We also produce comprehensive writer's guides and content standards to help your team maintain consistency across the site after launch.

Do you design for specific platforms like Sitecore or AEM?

Our design work is platform-informed but not platform-constrained. We work closely with our development team throughout the design process to ensure that what we design is technically feasible and well-suited to your environment, whether that is Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, Contentstack, or another platform. That said, we design for your users and your brand first. The platform shapes what is possible, but it does not drive the creative direction.

What's the relationship between your design work and implementation?

TechGuilds uses an integrated delivery model where designers and developers collaborate throughout the project, not in sequence. Designs are informed by technical feasibility from day one, which eliminates rework and keeps projects on timeline. The same team that leads discovery and UX design leads development and launch, producing a seamless transition with no loss of intent between phases.

Do you offer standalone UX audits?

Yes. A UX audit is available as a standalone engagement. We assess usability, accessibility, content structure, and conversion performance across your existing site, then produce a prioritized recommendations report that is actionable on its own or used to scope a broader redesign or improvement program. It is a practical starting point for organizations that want to understand what is working and what is not before committing to a larger investment.
